How do I become a therapy traveler? How do I become a therapy traveler? If you are a PT, OT, SLP/CCC, PTA, or COTA and have graduated from an accredited school located in the United States you are eligible to begin your traveling therapy career. However, most assignments will require you to have a minimum of 6 months to be considered. If you are a new graduate an experienced recruiter can help place you in a permanent position until you have gained enough experience to become a traveler. How do I know what recruiter to work with? What Companies are the best? Make sure the travel company you chose to work for has a solid reputation in the industry and that your recruiter is knowledgeable and experienced in the territory you are interested in. To help simplify this process; chose a state on the site map on the home page and your information will be sent to an experienced travel recruiter for that state. How long are travel assignments? Typically the industry standard ranges from 13 -26 week assignments. There is always the option to extend the length of the assignment if both parties agree. Where will I live when I travel? Most companies will put you up in corporate housing; this includes all the utilities, furnishings and house wares. When choosing a travel company, make sure that you are able to talk to the housing coordinator and see pictures of the potential living accommodations. Most companies are pet friendly but be sure to let your recruiter know up front if you will be traveling with pets. I have specific question, where can turn?
